Alana Mag joined Northside Capital Management in 2012 as a Senior Research and Operational Due Diligence Analyst. Her primary responsibilities include operational due diligence, manager research and monitoring, portfolio risk analytics, asset allocation, and client service.
Prior to joining Northside, Mrs. Mag was an associate in New York on the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection team within the Investment Management division of Goldman, Sachs & Co (2009-2012). Mrs. Mag was responsible for evaluating investment opportunities for traditional long-only and alternative (private equity and hedge fund) asset classes. She spearheaded the on-boarding of 100+ global, long-only managers with over $33 billion in assets under management, and conducted quantitative risk analysis related to capacity measures.
Early in her career, Mrs. Mag worked as an analyst on the Partnership Fund Accounting team within the Federation of Goldman, Sachs & Co (2005-2009). In this role, she monitored the liquidity needs for 125+ private equity fund-of-funds products with over $25 billion in assets under management, and created models for calculating investor capital calls and distributions, optimizing use of third-party leverage, and trading in foreign currencies.
Mrs. Mag grew up in New York and earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting at New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business in 2007. She is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
